30/04/2008 - Active Durham
Are you involved in sport or physical activity at a local level?
Active Durham is a new sports network, supported by Sport England, which is looking to widen access to sport and physical activity opportunities at a community level. Whether you're a local sports club, school, part of an extended schools programme, a voluntary or community group or a private sector provider, we want to hear from you.
How can you help?
Coming under the Durham District Partnership, local action groups are currently being set up. These groups will meet regularly to help encourage more people of all ages to take up exercise. We would like you to help by promoting existing clubs and activities and identifying exercise opportunities.
There are benefits to you too.
You have the opportunity to attract new people to your own club or activity sessions. You can influence your local action plan and there are even external funding and training opportunities available.
If you would like to be involved, or for more information, contact Tom Beales, Community Sports Development Officer, on 0191 301 8425 or email: tbeales@durhamcity.gov.uk
